WORKSHOP FAQs

1. Do I need to be an experienced artist to join?

Not at all! Art Jamming is for everyone, from total beginners to experienced painters looking to loosen up. There’s no pressure to make something perfect—just space to explore, play, and create freely.

2. What do I need to bring?

We provide all materials, including paints, brushes, palette knives, rags, and unconventional tools for mark-making. If you’d like to bring a personal object or reference image for inspiration, feel free.

We’ll keep you fuelled with tea, coffee, biscuits, and cake throughout the day.

3. What are the workshop hours?

Workshops ususally run from 10 AM to 4 PM, giving you plenty of time to immerse yourself in the creative process without feeling rushed. We’ll take a relaxed break for lunch—bring your own, and we’ll supply the treats!

4. Will I take home a finished piece?

Yes! In most of the sessions you’ll be working towards a large-format canvas that captures the energy and expression of the session. Some people create one bold, layered piece, while others explore multiple techniques before bringing it all together on their final canvas.

The focus isn’t on creating a “perfect” artwork—it’s about experimenting, loosening up, and finding your creative flow.

5. What should I wear?

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy—creativity has a way of spreading!

6. What kind of painting techniques will we explore?

Each session is different, but we’ll dive into:

Gesture sketching – quick, expressive mark-making to get started.

Blind contour drawing – freeing yourself from overthinking.

Layering & texture-building – using unconventional tools.

Colour play – unexpected combinations & expressive palettes.

Movement-based painting – capturing energy rather than just form.

7. Where do the workshops take place?

Workshops are held in Skipton, at a relaxed and inspiring creative space. Occasionally, we run pop-up sessions or outdoor workshops—join the mailing list to stay in the loop!

8. How many people will be in the session?

We keep it small and intimate (6–12 people)to make sure everyone gets a personal, immersive experience.

9. Can I buy a session as a gift?

Yes! Gift vouchers are available—perfect for anyone who could use a creative escape.

10. What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, let us know at least 48 hours in advance, and we’ll transfer your booking to another date. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for last-minute cancellations, as places are limited.
